On 27 October 2026, Liberia reported the launch of a US$35 million expansion and modernisation project at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company. The project is expected to add 50,000 metric tons of petroleum storage capacity and marine backloading facilities, while a new petroleum testing laboratory and a 12,800-metric-ton gasoline tank were also dedicated.
The expansion is intended to strengthen fuel security, improve storage capacity and support petroleum distribution. HPC can support energy companies with infrastructure modelling, inventory forecasting, operational analytics and digital asset-management systems.
